Tennis elbow is a very common problem for many active New Yorkers. Caused by repetitive motions and natural wear and tear, lateral epicondylitis is an inflammation of the tendons that run from the wrist to the outer side of the elbow. Symptoms of tennis elbow include muscle tenderness and constant pain which is exacerbated by further movement. Treatment options for this condition include braces and splints, rest, steroid injections, and physical therapy. In some extreme cases, surgery may be necessary as well.
